Water plating principle

Water plating:

For  different body and plating needs, with different special “water  plating” liquid, the plated parts are placed in the water bath at room  temperature (15-40° C.) for slight shaking in a relatively short period  of time ( Such as silver plating, only 30 seconds) to complete.

According  to the different needs of customers, can be plated into different  colors, and high-gloss silver, sub-silver, gray silver, gun color, gold,  black chrome, semi-chrome. Because the electrical  conductivity of the electroplated product is significantly enhanced,  there are two methods for the parts to be insulated: First, apply  insulation oil to the part to be insulated. This part will not be  electroplated when it is electroplated. Insulation effect! Of course, the parts that have been coated with insulating oil will turn black and will not be suitable as an exterior surface. The  second is to use a special adhesive tape to cover the parts to be  plated and protect them to achieve the same insulation effect.

Water  electroplating is widely used due to its relatively simple process and  no requirement for vacuum ion plating from the equipment to the  environment. Water electroplating has a weak point and can  only be coated with ABS material and ABS+PC material (the effect of this  material plating is not very satisfactory). The ABS material temperature is only 80 °C, which makes its application range is limited. Vacuum plating can be up to about 200°C. This can be used for plating on components that are used at high temperatures. Like PCs are used for tuyere and tuyere rings, these components are all required to withstand high temperatures of 130°C. In  addition, generally require high-temperature components, vacuum plating  is done in the final spray of a layer of UV oil, so that the product  surface is shiny, high temperature, while ensuring adhesion.

Water Plating Process Features:
1. No need for heat source, perform various plating work under the normal temperature of 15-40°C

2.  The principle is not to cover, but the combination of the coating and  the substrate to form an alloy, the bond strength is greatly increased

It is worth noting that: 201# water-plated black titanium is better than electroplating
304# water-plated black titanium black with blue and electroplated gray

In  terms of effect alone, the appearance and abrasion resistance of the  water plating is better, but the water plating is contaminated.

Vacuum plating has low cost, no pollution and high production efficiency.

In simple  terms, if vacuum-plated but not UV oil, its adhesion is poor, can not be  more than 100 cell TEST, and water electroplating is significantly  better than vacuum plating. Therefore, in order to ensure  the adhesion of vacuum plating, special follow-up spray treatment is  required, and the cost is higher.

The color of water  plating is more monotonous, and generally there are only seven colors,  such as sub-silver, gray silver, gun color, gold, black chrome,  half-light chrome, and so on. However, vacuum plating can solve the seven-color problem.
